Google Project Wing: Google is betting on the drones market


If something is characterized the empire Google is for its tendency to enter all those markets that are related to information and new technologies.
September brings his latest novelty hand in hand; a secret project of the laboratories of Google "X" (responsible for the Google Glass) that after two years of investigations in secret finally comes to light. It is "Project Wing"; a drone (hybrid between light aircraft and helicopter in reduced version) specialized in the delivery of small goods by air, using a thin rope.
It seems that Google is added to the list of companies that how Amazon intends to turn the concept of parcel delivery by air into a reality. If we look at the technical differences between the drones of Amazon and Google we find a big difference in terms of the procedure of delivery of the goods. While the Amazon drone needs to land to leave the package on the ground , Google has made a significant advance at a tactical level since the Project Wing stays in flight during delivery . In this case, the package travels in the center of the Project Wing and when the time comes, a cable slides it to the earth's surface carrying out the delivery and later the cable is re-rolled.This supposes a temporary economizer and an improvement as for the safety of the own drone when not having to rest on the surface but to be operative to 20 meters of distance.
Although at the moment, we will have to content ourselves with the visualization of the prototypes because the legislative area is always going to tow the evolution of new technologies generating a great legal vacuum and this fact makes difficult in the short and medium term the normalization of drones as a means delivery transport. Not only the use of drones for this commercial purpose is being debated in many countries, but the use of drones for private or warlike purposes also brings with it a confrontational dialogue between different institutions that deal with aspects of security and space legislation.
